A Tiger and Napkin.
I asked the kids what they thought was in their presents today (party on Saturday, birthday on 9/16). Here are their answers:
Maggie: a purple napkin!!
Sam: a little tiny tiger!!
I think Maggie is going to be pleasantly surprised to find something more exciting than a purple napkin in there. Sam, on the other hand, will probably disappointed to find no tiger in that box. Maybe next year kid. Mabye next year.

Fish, it's what for dinner.
**UPDATE** The fish hats did there job. The kids ate their salmon without too much prodding and I didn't have to wash any down the drain. Whoopee!
We're having some salmon tonight for dinner. I don't want to throw out the wee bit 'o fish that we do put on the kids plates- SO, Daddy helped them make fish hats to wear at dinner tonight. Hopefully these will get them excited enough about the fish that they will eat it right along with us. I'll let you know how it works.

Praise God!
Miles passed his hearing test today! Our baby can hear! Wah-hoo! Thank you all so much for praying! Our Lord opened the kid's ears and allowed a great test result today, Thank you God! We take him back in 4 months for a follow up, but for now we are done! Praise God!

Gaining on that 'cute factor'
Miles is getting a wee bit cuter each and every day. Finally we have some pics that aren't just him staring at the camera flash. He's almost has something that might be able to be called a smile in a few of these. :-) Hope you enjoy.
(okay, no smile here from Milo. But Mags looks cute, eh?)

The babe in our midst.
Miles turned 2 months on the 18th, but he just has his appointment today. He's still pleasing his mama by continuing in his 'average' trend. Here's the stats:
Length: 23 1/2 inches (75%)
Weight: 11 lbs 10 oz (50%)
Head: 10%!!
He's a pinhead. But he has grown THREE INCHES since his 2 week appointment, shocking the nurse and his doctor both. (Keeping in mind that I wouldn't trade Sam and Maggie for ANYTHING...EVER) I love having one baby!! Can I say it again?? I love it! Although no infant is 'easy' - Miles is sure a joy to have in our family. We love having a little bro for Sam and Maggie to love on and have really enjoyed his wonderful sleeping habits (9-10 hours at night with no work on our parts to get him there), thanks buddy!
Nicknames thus far? Sam calls him 'pooch'. I don't know if this is his hint that he would like a dog someday, but for now it's cute. I, mama, call him 'munch' and 'mo-mo'. He's also been known at 'lil' buddy' at times by any member of the household. Oh, and Uncle Ryan has called him 'Fi' once. :-)
We take Miles in for his next hearing test on THIS FRIDAY morning at 10am. Please continue to pray for his hearing- specifically that God would open his ears and allow him to hear! Oh, how we would LOVE to leave Friday and not be making another appointment for him. Thank you in advance, for your prayers. They really do mean the world to us!

Eric's Olympic Frustrations.
Questions asked by Eric during the closing ceremonies this evening:
Why do softball and baseball get thrown out as Olympic sports? They dope those horses too ya know. (Baseball's doping is being used as an excuse to drop the sport in the games.)
When is NASCAR going to be added?
What about synchronized dressage? (horse dancing)
What about break dancing? (americanized rhythmic gymnastics)
Why does Karate get to be in the running as a new sport in the games? They already have Tae-kwan-do and Judo. Isn't that enough martial arts?
Why are horses the only animals allowed in the Olympics? What about Olympic cockfighting?
Ooh, or maybe knife throwing...that would be cool.
I am sure Maggie would like to see wave-jumping thrown in there at some point.
