First Day of Preschool? Why, yes it is!

That's right folks!  MILES had his first day of preschool today.  I was so excited for him I almost forgot to take pictures of our little man in his big backpack.  ;-)  He'll be going two mornings a week to a community preschool in the area.  The classroom is a mix of "Community Peers" (in other words, typically developing children) and children with Special Needs.  He already seems to be loving it there and impressing me with his skills.  He took of his backpack by himself and hung it up in his cubby when we arrived.   I didn't know he could take it off OR hang it up.  Big mistake, Miles...now Mama is going to expect things like that out of you at home too.

A little comparison

Sam vs. Mommy vs. Maggie, first day of first grade for all of us.  We don't have digital copies of Eric's pictures for some reason...that will be for another day.

Saturday Happenings.

I caught my hubby doing some beading today.  The room was totally silent (yep, even SAM!).  They were pretty cute.

Miles is four year old now....and we learned tonight that he has never had a bandaid on his skin.  We have to keep his nails short because otherwise he'll scratch his chin/neck area until it's raw.  Tonight he was due for a trim....and I made it through 19 of his digits before he yanked his hand away on the last one and ripped off the edge of his nail...it was bleeding a lot.  A bandaid was required.  He freaked out at the sight of the blood (and the pain, I'm sure)...but that was nothing compared to what he did when we tried to put a bandaid on him.  Poor kid, he had no idea what was happening to him.  He did take a short break from his screaming and thrashing when we explained that it was a "sticker for your boo-boo".   As you can see in this picture, Daddy was sporting a "boo-boo sticker" too for a while this evening.

First Day of School

The kids have been ECSTATIC about school starting.  Sam keeps just jumping up from meals and screaming at the top of his lungs about it.  It's wild.  FINALLY they got to go yesterday.  Sam has Mrs. VanBuskirk with friends Aidan and Kadin.  Maggie has Mrs. Hart with bff Leah in a 1st/2nd blend.  They are both super crazy happy about it.  Happy kids=happy mama.  Yipee for 1st grade!

Larch Mountain

My parents got a new motorcycle this last week and wanted to take it for a little ride this weekend.  They took two days to get up here -normally a one day drive- and spend a day and a half with us before heading home Monday.  We drove up to Larch Mountain on Sunday afternoon.  Here are some pictures.
