Visions 'o Mags

A little glance of Maggie's private Oscar party in our living room.

I wish I was a little bit taller...

We caught Sam's 1st dunk (with NO assistance) on camera. Go Sam, Go! Nice shot buddy. Loving the Lawrence Welk Show.
Pic with Gma and Gpa Viertell (we think this is a facial expression we might see from Maggie again when she is a teenager)
...and another...

Recovery

Ok, so we are almost all the way well now. I even got a batch of fresh energy last week and made play-doh for the kids for the first time. We scented the stuff and had green mint, orange orange, and blue coconut 'flavors'. Sam is totally enamoured with this new fun toy. He likes to punch out stuff with the 100+ cookie cutter that I got for Christmas. Maggie would rather drag her hands thru it and make small balls that she can try to eat when mom isn't looking. Leah's parents were up for a long weekend from California. We hit the Zoo in the great sunshine Saturday morning. Sam loved checking out all the animals - Maggie ran around like a crazy thing and it took 3 of us to not lose her- meanwhile Sam was an easy 1 on 1.

We went to the playground in Washington Park and the kids hit the slides.

Valentine's Day Fun?

Well, after 3 strait days of ill children (I'm talking 8 diapers in one hour Monday kind of ill) I think I expected too much out of them today. But, after Mom realized that her son was still not feeling too well and still needed some TLC things improved a bit. Sam and Maggie did REALLY enjoy their cards from family today and the balloons that Daddy bought Mommy too. By the end of the day the cards were looking pretty well 'loved' and everyone is tired, but it was a great Valentine's Day overall and we are looking forward to being fully 'back in black' this week.

Visions of our day

Well, I am happy to say that I successfully babysat Joel this morning for more than TWO HOURS! Yeah Joel! I really can't claim that I did anything to cause this miraculous occurance...you see, Andrea was praying it would go well from her dentist chair, and Eric was praying all morning at work about it. Praise God for a fun morning for these 4 cousins! I love the one in the bottom left. Sometimes when Maggie is 'loving' you- really she in injuring you. Way to take one for the team Dad!

Joining the Club

Well, everyone else is doing it, so we thought we would too....
OK, actually- the kids were cracking us up this evening before bedtime and we wanted to share it with our out-of-towners. We hope you enjoy! (and we hope it works....)

(I know this isn't the fanciest....I didn't have the patience to go the tidy posting route. Blogger was overloaded at the time.)

The Morning After

The kids didn't get enought sleep this weekend. They went to bed late and got short naps. Thus, Monday morning was a bit rough in our house. For example, they didn't even get up during Sesame Street today. It was nice...in a way!

Just a Day in the Park

We hit the Imagination Station for an hour or so on Saturday. The kids LOVED getting to run all over and climb up and down then up and back down again. Here's Mags peaking around a corner. Looks a little uncomfortable...but he didn't seem to mind.

Sam taking a break for some string cheese. He thought it was really cool that you could sit on a rock and eat.
Maggie pulling a 'Kiss' face on the swings.

TGIF

Maggie got her first pigtails this evening. She was already cranky because a. it was Friday night, b. she is getting her eye teeth, and c. she took way too long of a nap- SO, we figured that we might as well pull her hair around a bit too. Cruel, I know. Needless to say, she didn't appriciate them very much.

Yes, Sam is wearing an apron without his shirt on. Boy oh boy, he loves the camera.

Pre-blogger and Practically Pre-baby

This pic is a blast from the past...the semi-recent past anyway. It was taken at our Baby Shower before moving from Spokane. I ran across it today and it made me laugh. I hope you get a chuckle out of it too.
