Fun with Grandpa

Maggie had a ball playing with Grandpa on the floor. She loved getting tossed around. Thanks for the great weekend Grandma and Grandpa!! See you in a few weeks!!

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa Viertell

The kids finally discovered that they can sit on furniture (thanks Grandma Moffat!). So as you can see in this pic- Sam is telling us that he is "all done" sitting in the chair and Maggie has no patience for that and is simply getting out of the chair. The kiddos had fun hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa all weekend.

They even learned "touchdown." Ohh, what a fun new game! Posted by Picasa

Random Family Pics

Eric baked some bread. I think it was his way of coping with the complete lack of sweets in our house- and the groceries to make anything sweet. The bread was very yummy, honey. Grandpa scratched Maggie's back with the back scratcher thing....she made some very odd faces- but didn't seem to mind the scratching at all!
Sam discovered the pointsettas he and Maggie received last Christmas from their Great Aunt Sandy. He LOVES them...and loves carrying them all over the house!

My First Petting Zoo

We stopped by the Christmas Tree lighting in downtown Gresham over the weekend (Leah's parents were in town) and took the kids to their first petting zoo experience. Maggie was totally in her element. Grandpa had to 'chase' her around. She was just walking all over from animal to animal. She wasn't even scared when they came at her.
Sam was so excited and scared that he flopped between laughing-screaming and crying-screaming the whole time. He didn't really appriciate the animals coming at him so much.

Firehat Fun

At the downtown Gresham trick or treating bonanza the kids received fire hats. They were lost in the trunk of the car until last night. They were a big hit. Okay, they were a big hit until Maggie snapped herself with the elastic. This was taken moments before the tragic snapping. (check out Sam's stylin' pants- he has a habit of pulling his pant legs up to his knees...maybe he is too warm?....)
This was taken moments after Sam snapped himself. The hats went away and had their elastic removed after this one. (Sam is also cutting thru TWO molars this week. I think it's safe to say that they have been the WORST ones for him to break so far...that might have contributed to his hysteria.)
The morning after: all is well- the hats are elastic free and the kids are back in the black after a good night's sleep.

Fun with Grandma

G&G Moffat stopped by for a few minutes the other evening. The kids had a LOT of fun playing with grandma....I think grandma got a bit of a workout bouncing these two around. Posted by Picasa

Bundles of Baby

So, this mama finally took the kids outside today. It's been raining for the last week and the poor kids are a bit sick of the house. So we broke in the new coats and went outside...for a whole hour. Believe it or not- these were the best pics from the time. They were too worried about the wet grass and dirt on their hands to be too cute. Sorry Grandma.

Sam enjoyed flossing his teeth with a leaf.

Maggie chased the volleyball for a while...then she tripped on it and did a faceplant.
Maggie also stole Sam's hat off his head. (Sam spotted a squirrel...thus the pointing).

Randomness from the week...

This was Maggie's version of 'peek-a-boo' this week. Gretchen: here is your proof that the house is not always "tidy and clean."

Mmm, books are yummy for my tummy. Posted by Picasa

Here's lookin' at you, Natalie!

Sam has a new trick. He has been working on it for about a week now. I think he feels that he has finally mastered it and can move on to bigger and better things now....like how to get on top of a chair or the coffee table. This is step 1 of his trick (and the face we get when I try to get him to smile lately):
And step 2 (in case you ever want to try it at home):

.....Drumroll please!!!..................................

And finally, step 3 and the finale:
Once he is up here is stands for a while and just looks around, eventually tumbling purposefully to the floor. Posted by Picasa
