It's like an Orange on a Toothpick.

Yes, we went for a bike ride this evening.
Yes, we took Miles.
Yes, his head is TINY.
Yes, he is wearing his brother's old helmet...which used to fit his brother's HUGE head.
Yes, he is wearing a summer hat AND a washcloth underneath to try to get it to fit better.
No, I don't think this would have helped him at all if we actually wrecked or anything.
Yes, Eric was laughing uncontrollably at the sight of his poor baby boy.
No, as ridiculous as this picture looks, it doesn't fully capture how silly Miles actually looked.
Yes, we will put it on him again.
Yes, we will go to Walmart and hope there they make a smaller one.

Kiddo Update

My 11 month old BABY isn't movin' a bit. Since I have to take him in next month for his well baby visit...I figure I better start trying to teach him some tricks to show the MD. After some forced fake-crawling time (don't even ask what that is...it's the hardest thing he's ever done...or so it seems) I found him sitting indian style. So tried take some pics of his silly feet...but he just stuck out his tongue and threw some Miles-grins my way. As you can tell his eyes are improved...but definitely not normal yet. We go back in a week.
Sam and Maggie have spent the last 2 weeks (seriously, two weeks...) in some pretend land that I am not invited to. Which is great! :-) I've been told twice in the last week that I am finally reaping the benifits of having twins. They are calling each other "Angelina-Love-a-lot-bear" (that's Maggie) and "Alice-wishy-bear" (that's Sam). I'm being called "Mrs. Mousling-rainbow-bear", Eric "Mr. Mousling-sunshine-bear", and Miles "Henry-night-night-bear". In case you haven't figured this one out yet, they've got some obsession with Angelina Ballerina as well as The Care Bears. Sam has told us, regarding his "Alice" name- "Don't worry, I'm a boy Alice." Oh, that makes it SO much easier to swallow, kid. :-)

Below they are using leftover pieces of fence to make a home for "Snakey". On the left end is his trampoline I am told (Thanks Glovers for introducing the trampoline into my kids lives....), and next to that is his slide.

Here's "Alice" coloring part of the home with some chalk. Working too hard to look at the camera.

Maggie, is never working too hard to look at the camera. Here she is, posing with "Snakey" himself.

Men at Work

We decided to use Eric's 5 day weekend (budget cuts= cut days) to get our last side of fence rebuilt. Thank you to all the guys who spent part of their weekend slaving away in our backyard. For the first time in 3 years (okay, probably longer....this place was a wreck when we moved in) our yard is fully enclosed! I feel so fancy.

Fun with Katie

Our Spokanite-turned-Minnesotan (soon-to-be-African, Lord willing) friend Katie, came for a fly by night visit yesterday. It was SO great to get to hear about all the things that the Lord is doing in her life and to introduce her to the kids. The last time we saw her I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with Sam & Maggie. In other words, I was BEYOND huge. Far beyond it. Here are some pics of Katie and the kids....oh, and one I managed to make it into. :-)

Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles....

Naptime at our house is usually anything BUT quiet...(when you put two three year olds in a room...what else can one expect!??). But today--- ahhh, SILENCE. We came home from a mini-reunion with Eric's Mom's family and the kids went right to bed...and right to sleep!

Seeing as this could possibly be the last nap they take for a month or more, we couldn't resist taking a picture. Plus, their sleeping positions were someone amusing...

Mother's Day goofiness.

Here's Maggie and cousins Kari & Joel waiting patiently to go up front and do their Mother's Day song at church yesterday. Thanks for passing it on Polly!

Miles.

Miles had some good quality time with my mom over the last few days. She was up to hang out and play for my birthday. It was GREAT to have her here and very fun to watch her play with the kiddos. Here are some pics of Miles from the last few days with Grandma.

The year of the LadyBug.

So....I turned 30 on Monday. Many of my friends and family members are glad to see me "finally" join the "middle aged" group with them. (I won't reveal which one called 30 middle aged...). My husband gave me what I can only call at this point the BEST gift yet (minus that engagement ring and my three lovely children of course...). He gave me a set of Rachel Ray stonewear. Yipee! I had NO CLUE (amazing thing #1) and I really truely wanted it (amazing thing #2).
So of course I had to cook something in it as soon as possible. Here is our favorite Chicken (although this one was with turkey) Potpie recipe....and yes, I am still totally impressed with my 'fancy' new stonewear after cooking with it. Nice work, Rachel.

So, why the "Year of the Ladybug" you ask? Well, my darling husband bought me a music card with a ladybug on the front. Maggie picked it out and he thought, great! TWO DAYS after my birthday he realized the it had a picture of two ladybugs...well, you know...getting in on inside the card. Oopsies.
