What a mess.

Well, we did it. We dove in and let the kids dig out and pick some shapes for their first pumpkin carving experience. They LOVED it, except when we tried to speed along the process, err- I mean help, then they were rather sad and slightly angry with us. But in the end, we learned some things. 1. Maggie doesn't like the taste of raw pumpkin. 2. Sam would like his hands washed every time he takes something else out of that pumpkin. 3. They are so sos so cute when they saw their pumpkins lit up. They just squated on the cold cement and stared....for probably 15 minutes or more.

This one is from earlier this week. Sam stacked these items and then told me it was a birthday cake. He was trying to blow the 'flame' off the 'candle'. It was too cute.

Thursday Pics

Last night Maggie made this potato head all by herself. Then she walked around the house saying "look Daddy, look at this!" Here she is with her proud creation.
This was just taken a few minutes ago. I am glad that someone appreciated the $200 costco trip. I know I didn't.

Wah-hoo!

Good news, my lab tests came back totally normal- Praise God!!!

...and thank you SO MUCH for praying for us and this pregnancy. We appreciate it more than you know...! I feel like I can actually be happy about the pregnancy now...that is until we reach heartbeat time, then I can get all nervous again. (Hey maybe the next post can be all about my 'morning' sickness or something. Won't that be a good time?)

Maggie's First T-Bone Lesson

Eric was going to bring out the guitar- but Maggie vetoed that with a request for the 'tra-bo' instead. Silly Maggie.

Praise God! We're pregnant!

"Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act."
Psalm 37:4-5

I admit that I am scared to post the news that we are FINALLY pregnant again. I am scared that this baby is not healthy and will miscarry. But, it's taken 4 times longer to get pregnant this time that it did with pregnancy #1 and with #2 (the twins)...and God deserves praise- regardless of my fear.

SO, I am SO excited!!! Praise God for His faithfulness to indeed give us the desires of our hearts. I have thought of this verse so many times over the last year or so and wondered if it was my heart that had it's desires wrong. But God is so good, He knows our hearts so completely and has indeed a perfect plan for each of our lives as we seek to glorify Him on this earth.

I post this for YOU- so that we can ask you to pray. Pray that I am pregnant with a healthy baby (or two healthy babies if you are feeling feisty). :-)

So, thank you in advance for your prayers. I'll keep y'all posted as we know more.

(Oh, possible a July 1 due date....some of you might want to know that I suppose.)

Shiner.

Sam's first shiner. He is very much 2. He spends a large chunk of his day trying new ways to fall off the couch. The one he tried last Thursday didn't work so well. He ended up with his first black eye. As it turns out you can't really photograph a poofy eye- but you can catch the ugly bruise that shows up a few days later.
Oh, and there is a pic of Maggie. Just to be fair. Plus, it's a cute look on her face.

My silly family.

Blogger was frustrating me and that is why these pics (also from the Pumpkin Patch) are just now being posted. I tried to take a cute pic of my family on our hay ride, but the kids were eating some raisins and all I got was a bunch of 'raisin face'. But here they are, nonetheless.

The Patch. Finally.

Well, it took me 4 days, but at last here are the pics from our visit to the pumpkin patch. We took the kids into this PITCH BLACK hay maze thing....I think we were more freaked out than they were. The best part is that at the end of our time there, the kids didn't care too much about their pumpkins- but loved the indian corn that they got to take home. Whatever, I'm just glad they had a good time.

Final Fruits

Sam and Maggie took the last of the edible veggies out of the garden today. Here are the kids enjoying 2 of the 3 bell peppers that we grew. I hate green bell peppers. Apparently I haven't passed that on to the kids. (Check out the holes all the way thru Sam's pepper in the last pic).
Next they hit the tomatoes. Sam ate the entire thing. Even the stem area. He ended up wearing just a bit of it.
Maggie took never did totally finish her tomato.
She actually sucked the insides out of it and spit what was left of the skin back into the garden. Yum.

The week in review

We hit the zoo this week. Thie hippos and sealions gave us a great show. It was early in the morning on a cloudy day and there weren't too many people at the zoo. It made for a great visit.
Sam's most recent ab workout.
Maggie in action. She's running 'ring around the rosie' around Sam. She fell seconds after the picture was taken and the game was over.
We are eating soup for lunch today. Dora soup. The kids are very excited about the noodle shapes and I am still waiting to see if we make it thru the meal without a major spill.
We might hit the pumpkin patch this weekend....so some more exciting pictures may be on their way.

Deal or no deal?

Ummm, DEAL!

We called several weeks ago to get a cable jack installed in our garage and were quoted at $20.99 from Comcast. I called last week to set up a time and they told me it would be $30 an hour for the tech's time to do it. Hhmmm...anyway, I asked about the $20.99 quote and they decided to give it to me. SO, considering that the tech came today and spent 2 hours putting it in- that's a $60 visit that we were getting for $20. Nice.

But wait, there's more!! He was over an hour and a half late- so we got a $20 credit. The install cost us a whopping $0.99. That's one heck of a cheap jack.

Scrapin' the bottom of the barrel.

Hey Grandma- here are some new pics. I personally don't think they are anything too hot, but they are of your grandkids. I hope this helps your fixation for a bit. :-)
Eric took a picture of Sam in his hat....he thought he looked hilarious. I'm not totally sure why yet.
Maggie was not up for smiling...just staring at the camera was enough for her this day.
Wow, what a trio. This is what I live with, Lukas.
Sam crawled in front of me and layed down right in front of my face. So, I layed my head down and took a rest. ...and Eric took a picture.

Toast?

(Seriously Leah, toast?)

Yes, Toast. I just thought it was funny, ok?
