How many is too many.....?

These two batches of tomatoes were plucked from our weed infested garden (seriously folks, the weeds were knee high and seeding about a week ago....) two days apart. So far, we've made two LARGE batches of salsa and I've got spaghetti sauce on the docket now. Rockwood has some of the junkiest dirt Oregon has ever seen- we can't seem to grow much of anything in it---but boy oh boy tomatoes love it!

Dinner tonight...

Here's a link to a recipe that we had for dinner tonight. It was GOOD. All five of us ate it- AND liked it. I wanted to pass it along for those of you who are also swimming in tomatoes and zucchini right now...

Camping, potpourri.

There's always one, isn't there Miles....wouldn't want to look at the CAMERA....!!

Camping, Maggie edition.

Enjoying some chocolate milk with Sam and Grandpa (that organic kirkland stuff at Costco is great! It doesn't need to be refrigerated...don't ask me how that works...)
Roasting that first marshmallow.
Hanging out in a very cool tree on our nature walk (if you ask Maggie) or hike (if you ask Sam).
The most amazingly ridiculous pose of the week. Wouldn't you agree? :-)

Mags loved camping, we weren't too sure if she would or not (it's a dirty and not so comfertable you know...). She had a great time playing in the dirt with her brother, making nature crafts (aka: glue gun, construction paper, moss and pinecones), and walking on trails loooking at all the flora and fauna.

Camping, Sam edition.

Sam enjoying his very FIRST smore. He actually squealed with delight when I smished his smore together and the marshmallow oozed out.
Too cute.
He choose this very cool shark biter thing from the Aquarium gift shop. He hugs it when he sleeps like it's a stuffed animal or something....it might be the best $3.99 we've ever spent. Plus, it aids him in picking things up off the floor of the van that he has dropped while on the road. Nice.
Did you hit Mo's you ask? Why, yes we did! Sam hit the derby car on the way out...he was using his frisbee from his meal as the steering wheel.

Being the almost 4 year old boy that he is, Sam loved camping. He lived in the dirt for 5 days and loved every minute of it. He climbed everything in sight - including these trees in our campsite. Nice work buddy.

Camping, Miles edition.

Here is how Miles spent his time around camp this last week.
LOVING the Mac 'n Cheese. LOVING it.

Miles really enjoys playing with plastic and paper - so the unopened bag of marshmallows was pure joy for him.
And lastly, Miles and Grandma - enjoying our last day at the beach...which was also the coldest one by far.

Best Buds and a gaggle of swimmers.

Sam and Maggie took their yogurt pops outside (in the 100+ degree heat) the other evening, we looked out and saw the two cuties lounging alike in their chairs. I know that someday they probably won't LOVE hanging out together so much, but for now it sure is cute.

We invited a few other families over to hit the pool yesterday and tried to snag a pic before the kids all lost it due to simple swimming exhaustion. We're missing Maggie and Blake, but here's the majority of 'em. Thanks for coming over, guys! We had a blast! (I cropped you out Mars, you're welcome). :-)
