The Weary.

This week marked a first (and we hope a last) in Eric's career.  He was on strike.  He walked the picket line for 5 days this week, 7.5 hours a day, in the POURING rain.  Not just any rain, super crazy heavy down pouring rain.  Because we live so close to his school we were able to provide some warmth and shelter for some of his fellow teachers this last week.  We threw many coats in the dryer and served a lot of soup this last week.  I'm thankful for the way that we were able to minister to his coworkers.   The teacher's union and the school district reached an agreement early this morning....finally.  Praise God that week is over!

Six of the twenty teachers we had at the house one very wet day.....
Six very wet teachers trying to look happy.
Eric fell asleep almost every day when he got off the line...and sometimes you're so tired you don't even wake up when you have Miles crawling all over you and poking at your eyes and slapping you so you'll maybe wake up.....

Ballet, Tap, and Jazz....oh my!

This winter/spring Maggie has been taking a dance class through the rec department once a week.  She has LOVED it.  I'm glad she got the opportunity to experience a variety of dance styles in this class.  Here are some pictures of our dancing queen.  There are a million pictures posted....mostly for my mom and dad who sponsored Maggie and weren't able to see her perform.  ;-)

Mid air!  She's watching her teacher most the time to confirm the dance steps....in case you're wondering why she's always looking to the right.

Nice form Mags!

This was during a 'free dance' portion of a song....as are the following several pictures.  Way to bust a move Maggie!

My personal fav.  Too cute.  I think she finally spied her Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Butler, in this one. She personally invited her and then was SO HAPPY when she showed up.  You're amazing Ms. Butler, you made her day.

 Time to tap.

 ....receiving her trophy and certificate....

Moms' Day

Yes, I used that apostrophe correct.  ;-)  The day after Mother's Day, Eric and the kids (Maggie, Sam, Sarah, Lucas...and Miles) made dinner for Lynn and I.  They decorated the table, made pizza, picked flowers, made cards and place cards, made salad, folded napkins, etc....it was pretty cute and very fun.  Here are some pictures from our fancy pizza dinner.

Somebody got a HAIRCUT!

Woot woot!  Miles got a haircut!  Here's his shaggy mop hanging out of his hat.  Notice the mini mullet in back...

And voila!  Fresh, non-mullet haircut for the almost 4 year old.  I hope that we'll be able to let this one grow out gracefully and get it cut a little longer in the future.  I think he looks so OLD with it!  My oh my.
