Happy Halloween!

Miles at 4 months, wearing a Halloween outfit that Sam wore at 6 weeks....(and looking mighty cute I might add!).

Crazy Dirt.

Maggie and Sam sporting their hats for "Crazy Hat Day" at Good Shepherd this week. They were complete with puffy paint, feathers, sequins, plastic spiders, and poof balls. A real work of art.
Sam and Mags had a GREAT time playing in the garden this week. If the color looks bad on the pic...it's not. That's just how much dirt they had on them. I didn't think it would ever be wise to bathe then BEFORE dinner, but this day it definitely was.

Random Monday Post.

I really have nothing exciting to blog (unless you want to see my newly reorganized cupboards...)- so here are some pics of the kids from the week instead. :-)
Miles, sporting his matching hat and shirt outfit from Great G&G Moffat.

Miles, sporting his fat boy face.
Andie, you will be SO proud of me: I bought paint. And then I let the kids use it. AND, I might even let them use it again. :-)
And of course...pumpkins. The kids did part of the scraping, but the rest was done by Daddy. Somehow he didn't make it in the pictures though. Oopsies.

Miles. 4 Months and counting...

Miles had his 4 month well baby check today. Eric and I are starting to think that he will forever be our slightly more than unpredictable child. At 2 weeks he was middle of the pack (50th % for height and weight), at 2 months he was 75th for height and 50th for weight...now at 4 months he's in the 30th for height and 45th for weight. What a nutty little guy. Outside of an outrageous list of lotions and creams his excemic skin, there really is nothing new to report. Oh, his head has dropped from the 25th percentile to the 10th. He really is our pinhead baby!

Stats:
24 1/2 inches long
14 lbs. 6 oz.

Just for comparison: Sam was over 18lbs at 4 months and Maggie was over 16lbs. Yes, I am realizing every day just how ridiculously large my twins really were (or is that are??....).

Sibling Love.

Brotherly Love.
Sisterly Love.

"Seriously Mom, can't you make them back off A BIT?"

Unlikely leverage.

Sam, who has been an exemplary eater until recently, has decided that he doesn't really like chicken. In response, I've started making Jello a more regular occurrence. No chicken, no Jello. It works well for him, and Jello is cheap and easy. Well, last night at dinner we didn't have any Jello...but we did have squash. The kid unexpectedly begged for more squash thru the meal and finally Eric just gave up and gave him the entire semi hollowed half from his own plate....but not until after Sam ate some chicken. Voila- the chicken is gone. Looks like we'll be having more acorn squash very very soon. Here is the boy and his squash. He destroyed the thing.
Maggie of course wanted her picture taken too. I told her to make a 'pretty smile' and this is what I got. We call this one 'Joel Face' at our place.

Good Morning!

Sam wanted to hold Miles. Might as well take some pics, right? (Sam picked his scab off his chin sometime last night/this morning. We quizzed him as to where that scab is now, he's been known to eat them (ICK ICK ICK...!), he told us that it is in his bed. Whew. Now I suppose new sheets are in order.)

Ha!

Okay, Oregonians. Here is a post from my friend Marlene that we laughed our way through. The dude at the end is great. Just wanted to pass her great post on. :-)

My misunderstanding.

So, I'm in the living room nursing Miles and can clearly see that more than one playdoh color is out at at time. Desiring to keep the colors as vibrant as possible for as long as possible I ask Maggie: "Maggie, are you mixing the colors?" She responds, "No Mom, I'm putting them in order." "What do you mean, 'in order'?" I ask. "It's a rainbow birthday party, Mom, we have to put them in order." Me: "Oh."

I thought I knew playdoh pretty well...I guess I still have things to learn. Thanks for educating me, Margo.

Bar Brawl?

Well, the kids looks like he just walked out of a bar brawl. He really isn't hurt as bad as this photo looks...he was just grumpy from his nap being cut short. The best part about this pic?...he still thinks his band aid is on. Eric ripped it off while he was sleeping and he hasn't realized it's gone yet. He has two stitches and a bunch of skin glue on his chin.
I think this is a pic ready to go right into that "baby" book. :-)

Cuteness.

Mags and her "Dada".

(sidenote: Sam and Daddy are at the urgent care right now...the kid needs a stitch or two we think. Another coffee table incident. Seriously...what is up with this kid?!)

Pirate Boy. Day 2.

Sam's eye is looking nastier each day. This was taken last night. Don't even ask about the pose...he didn't want it taken. Can you tell?

One Hundred Push-Ups. Here we come!

Eric and I are doing the onehundredpushups.com challenge. We just started Week 3 tonight. My total tonight was 45 push-ups. Eric did a whopping 88! Check it out- when we started I could barely eek out 5...now I'm barely eeking out 45!!! :-) Grab a buddy and get started! Trust me, if I can do it...you can too!

The Morning After.

Sam took a fall into Grandma & Grandpa's coffee table last night. Nice shiner, eh? You really should see it from the side. It's one impressive bump. Maggie's calling him a pirate...and laughing.

Sunday Funnies.

Check out this comic: It's the PERFECT description of Eric's relationship with Sam. :-)

Have a great Sunday!

Rain!

I was telling my dad this morning how odd this time of year is around here. For example: we have summer bulbs still blooming, ripe tomatoes on the vine, grass still fried from the summer heat....and it's raining. Somehow it doesn't seem to match up for me! Pics of the elder two children all decked out in their rain gear are below...but first this wonderful train track design:
Eric's dad is out on strike with Boeing and he stayed with the kids so I could run to the store the other morning (nothing exciting for me: Sam was in need of some electrolytes....gone 20 minutes) and when I came back I found this great train track display on the floor. Sam had a few (FOUR) track pieces already...so for his birthday we got him some more. BUT, we haven't found a good way to get the mishmash of pieces together yet....until now! Thanks for using your skills on Sam's train, Dad. It's obvious to us now that you are bored and your are in desperate need of some kind of mental challenge in your life. Can we buy you a new Sudoku or something? :-)

Now on to the pics. Enjoy!
