Random phone pics....really random.

Okay, so we found a slew of pictures that were on our phone today (isn't break great!)...bear with us as we share a few with you.

Here is a picture from the park today with the kids. "Oh dear, why is Sam not wearing pants?" you ask...? Well, he tried out the slide before we noticed that is was REALLY REALLY wet. So off went the pants. People were looking at us oddly...but what's new.
Here is the kids on the very same rock...only back in August.
The last picture we'll toss on here today is this one of Miles getting his fancy hearing test...again back in August. It was a great reminder for us today to continually be thanking God for the grace and mercy he pours out on our lives. We truely believe that He opened Miles' ears and has allowed him to hear. Thank you Lord!! ...now we just need to get to praying for his poorly tracking eyes....
We're having a great time in California...not missing the Portland slush one bit. :-) See you soon!

Farmer in the what??

Here's something we heard Sam singing this evening:

"The farmer in the butt,
the farmer in the butt,
Hi-Ho-Cherry-O,
the farmer in the butt...."

Yup, he's three folks.

Are you kidding me?

Seriously. It's like we've been transported back to Spokane...and someone has stripped us of all useful snow paraphanaila. Here are some pics from a cold snow outing this morning.

Maggie and Grampa. Doing the snow angel thing.
Sam. Happy and COLD.
Maggie had a hard time walking in it. She spend a lot of time laying in the snow and crawling around.
Yes, this is more snow than Portland can handle. But, it sure is pretty!

Milestone?

Maggie completed her first puzzle this week. ALL BY HERSELF. Seriously, no help. I was really excited for her (can you tell?).

Catch up post #2. aka- SNOW.

Eric will be thrilled that I posted these, I am sure. But it is his own fault. His dear friends Mike and Andy had emailed through their own odd snow pics, so of course he had to join the fun. The kids thought he was pretty funny....I thought he was just nuts. It may look "sunny" out there, but it was about 22 degrees with 20-40 mph winds. Ick.

Maggie, enjoying some fresh snowfall Sunday afternoon. She was really cute, she just ran in circles in it for several minutes.
Sam hung out under the porch (the kids HATES to be cold/wet/etc) but eventually his sister got him to head out and he loved it...of course....he's three.

Catch up post #1.

Well, it's been a slow couple of weeks around here and when I unloaded the pictures off the camera today I found that it might not have been as slow as I thought. So, here are the happenings from the last week and a half.
Sam and Maggie have possibly watched too much Sesame Street. Here they are on our bed, proudly making a "T". (I was too lazy to hurdle the bed and get the pic from the right side.)
A much too cute of a pic of my boys.
Sam and Maggie participated in their first stand-on-a-stage and sing Christmas program thing. Here they are waiting the hall to head up on the stage. They did great, I was expecting some kind of major meltdown from one, if not both, children- thankfully they didn't live up to my expectations. (Thanks for being a good mom and bringing your camera, Faith!!!)

Gettin' that tree.

Do you like how we have now reached the point in life where my daughter is allowed to wear her dresses (err, skirts) out in the mud to get a Christmas tree. At least we got her to put some boots on, eh?! Do you like Eric's OLD school Reynolds jacket? Special huh.

Just for fun.

Maggie & Sam in the saucers at 5 months.
Miles in the saucer at 5 (and a half) months. I think this kid really is the 'missing link' between Sam and Mags. What do you think?

Kickin' back.

Random pictures of the family relaxing over the weekend with G&G Viertell are following...

Miles has discovered the saucer. He's generally pretty happy in it. Now to train S&M not to bounce him so much in it....

Good Sport

Grandma and Grandpa Viertell were up to visit over the weekend. We had a GREAT time getting to hang out all together. Here are some pics showing what a good sport Grandpa was all weekend- the kids 'required' much of him. Way to go, Grandpa- they had a blast!

Solids and Turkeys.

Miles started on solids this week. (Yes, I know he is sporting his scary crossed eyes in this one...hopefully those will go away soon....)

He is loving his highchair. I think he finally feels like he is part of the family at mealtime- which makes for a much more pleasant dining experience for mama.
I made pine cone turkeys with the kids this evening. Maggie named hers Barbara. (We aren't too sure where that one came from...I don't think we even have any Barbaras in our lives right now....) Sam named his Chong-gong, said with hard 'g' sounds at the beginning and the end as well as your nose sounding plugged. (Chong-gong is also the password to get the child acting as a gate to move so you can get down the hallway unobstructed....not too sure how that became a name for a turkey....)
Eggimanns: This one is for you. We think this is a great "RuthFace". :-)

More Adventure in Gak.

Yes, it's an airplane. But whose airplane? "It's Maite's airplane!" Maggie says.

Ohh Maite, and you think that the kids have forgotten you. Never my dear. Never.

Gak, Goop, Goo, whatever.

I made the kids some gak stuff this afternoon. Notice Sam's bedhead- he wakes up SO slowly from a nap, but the promise of some gak made that kid just pop right up and out of bed.

Maggie made this: "It's you Mommy! with Miles in your tummy!".

UPDATE: Here is the website and recipe I used to make the gak stuff. :-)

Little Lady.

Here is Maggie, talking to "Grandma-in-California" on the phone last week. Wow, I think she's growing up a wee bit faster than I expected.
