Maggie: interpretive dance 101

Mags. Dancing. Too cute.

Really, stick out the 3 minutes. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Be sure to check out the hand motions for light, king, and savior throughout and then praises at 2:10. Enjoy.

In case you don't have the song in your Christmas rotation and suddenly feel the need for it, it's Selah: Light of the Stable. My kids think it's a dance party song....obviously.

The Purist and her brother.

I joke that Maggie could easily be a "Raw Foods" kinda girl. Here she is eating her lettuce wrap - with nothing on it but raw mango and some sesame seeds.
She LOVED it. I think she ate three like this.
Then there is her brother....he thinks more is ALWAYS better and loaded his wraps up until they were dripping everywhere...and ate every last bit.

Life with Miles

Miles is totally in love with the Christmas lights. This is where he can be found most evenings...sitting at the window, peeking out, enjoying the bright lights.

Sam and Maggie made a "block-way" to keep Miles from ripping all the presents. It worked rather well for a week or more...then I got sick of looking at it and threw it in the garage....resourceful huh!

He's getting more and more adventurous with his wish-I-was-a-walker skills every day.

Oh, and he's drooling a bit too...
:-)

Most kids learn that when you cover something up - it's still there a wee bit earlier than 18 months...but for Miles it's new right now! He was having a ball taking my turtle-neck off my face the other evening. he was just laughing and laughing and laughing. It is a real blessing to actually be playing some games with Miles now. Thank you Lord for how you are growing this boy every day!!

TreeTime!

We got most of Christmas up at our place today. Boy oh boy! Miles is going to be NO HELP at all this year. He LOVES the tree, LOVES the ornaments, LOVES the lights....argh. So much for my disengaged baby. He's all over this stuff. Here he is destroying part of the ornaments packing innards.

Sam took his ornament hanging VERY seriously. (the proof is in the tongue dangling ever-so-limply out of his mouth....)
Maggie, totally candid as she was in the decorating zone.
Check this one out!!! It's Eric AND Leah! Whoa!! CrazyCrazyCrazy!!!
Merry Christmas-Season Everyone!!! :-)

The Baby.

Miles, post enchilada. I guess he liked 'em.
Miles stood ALL THE WAY UP for the first time Wednesday night DURING HIS BATH. Seriously, baby? In the bath!??!?! That has to be the hardest place to stand....! He was super giddy about his standing endeavor, so I grabbed the camera and took some pics of the goofball. Here are two of the super cute ones. :-)

The Pre-Thanksgiving Post

Some fun pics of the kids:
Sam and Miles playing- Sam initiated this "boytime". Miles is just now starting to play with Sam every now and then, it's great to see the boys finally start interacting more.

My girl: Maggie. Talking. On the phone. With Grandma Viertell. FOR 45 MINUTES....and she's only 4...

...and last but not least- Mommy and Miles. I dove headlong into some more bangs yesterday. Miles JUST woke up in this pic. In fact I think he was still shaking from the shock upon waking....poor baby.

Dancing, Turkeys, and some Guitar.

Joel and Aubrey were over one morning last week. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pics (I have video too, maybe that will get on here someday....) of the kids dancing together. Joel and Maggie:
Sam and Aubrey:
I teach a class of two-year-olds one morning a week at GSCC. This last week we made turkey hats. Here is Maggie sporting one I made with my four-year-olds at home.
Miles is moving EVERYWHERE. Which is good, they tell me. :-) Today I lost him twice. Yes, I lost him in our 900 sq foot house. Pretty amazing. He's a silent traveler and if I leave him to play in his room I often don't find him there only a few minutes later. Today I found him in the bathroom...with the door closed pounding on the top of the toilet. Then later I found him in his siblings room playing some guitar. He cracked up when he saw that I was spying on him.

The week in pictures...

Miles LOVING his playtime with Sam.

Miles being naughty in the kitchen...

Sam and Maggie enjoying some apple peel (maybe they've seen too much Lady and the Tramp??)

Ta-da!! The day-glow-tangerine is a thing of the past...the new blueish-teal phase is here! We feel so fancy...
