Sunriver 2009

We did it! We had a great time at Sunriver this last week with our branch of the Moffat clan. Yes, we all stayed in the same house. Yes, we did sleep (some of us more than others...). Yes, we're doing it again next year!! Thanks Mom & Dad for a great, really great, time.

Yea!!!! Casie!!!

One of "my girls" from my high school ministry days at FBC stopped by to visit us tonight. Casie, and her friend Kate, are on a camping-road-trip sorta thing and happened thru Portland today. It was a lot of fun to get to have dinner with them and introduce Casie to Miles. Sam and Maggie were instant friends with she and Kate, of course. Thanks for giving us a ring Casie! We've missed you!!

Happy Birthday Miles!!

Was it seriously ONE YEAR ago that Miles was born??! Was it seriously ONE YEAR ago that I came home from the hospital with my second c-section, Miles was 3 days old, and ERIC GOT A KIDNEY STONE?! Looking back, that was one bad week. God provided for us in so many days that first week of Miles life: my recover was a piece of cake (can't say that with the twins!), my mom was still here helping us out, Miles was (and still is) one of the easiest babies known to man (it must be God's blessing after having twins), and Eric's mom was off school to run us all over town for his & hers doctor appointments. I felt bad for my baby at the time, he wasn't given the typical TLC that a newborn receives because of the kidney stone chaos in our lives (when it takes OVER a week to get the stone and it's shockwaves our of our lives, I think it's officially chaos...).

But as it turns out, Miles is one laid back kid! Which is a very good thing, because this past year he has had his tongue clipped, his ears tested almost 10 times for hearing loss, tubes put in to hopefully end that string of issues, his litte man parts all beautified, more creams that imaginable to tame his excema, and his eye patched for at least 2 hours a day for the past 6 months. He's been called patches just a few times, hence the birthday cake:

He never touches his food when we put it in front of him, he typically stares at it as if he's never seen food put in front of him before. It was no different with his cake.

But once he tasted the goodness, MMmmm Mmmm Mmmm. Let the fun begin!

Of course his sister and cousin did most of his present opening, but what's new for a one year old? :-) Thanks for the help girls, we never could have done it without you!
Happy Birthday my baby! We love you very much and are blessed, SUPER blessed!, to have you in our family.
Hey, how about to celebrate we head to Sun River next week? Ok? Great!

Happy Birthday....Hitler.

I'll get some more posted at a later date...but for now here's a funny pic from Miles' birthday celebration today. For a brief moment (now forever captured on film) he sported a Hitler style 'stash. Thankfully he was loving his cake too much to let this look linger too long.

All done!

Miles has his procedures done this morning. He looked awfully cute waiting to be taken into the OR this morning, so of course we had to snap a low quality cell phone pic.

Thanks for praying with us this morning, please continue to pray over the next few days that he will recover quickly and his discomfort would be at a minimum.
Thank you!!

The week in review

The piano is probably Miles favorite toy right now. He loves it so much that he actually pulls it back on top of himself...and then cries.
Sam and Maggie destroyed their own room too much to continue to play in it this week....so they invaded Miles' room. They have all the animals in the house- at least 4-5 different sets- sorted into their animal groups. I wasn't aware we had so many lions up until this point... Then they fed them "cookies" (Miles' links).

Here is a chalk dude that Maggie drew. They are adding "a whole bunch of ice cream!!!" on top of his head here. When I asked about him, Maggie just stated "He's got LooooOOOOONNNNG arms!!!".

And lastly, Miles sporting a hat that Sam outgrew by 4 months...and it's still big on him. He played with it until it turned to the side and then left it alone. I knew Daddy thought it would be cute, so a picture was taken.

Miles has his surgery Friday morning (tubes in his ears and some mostly cosmetic action for his little boy parts...) please pray for a quick day at the hospital and a fast recovery for Miles....we're doing his birthday party the next morning!!! Yikes.
